"MONOPRO is a short-term synthetic absorbable monofilament composed of a copolymer made from 75% glycolide and 25% -caprolactone (PGCL). MONOPRO is available for dyed(violet) and undyed(beige). MONOPRO synthetic absorbable monofilament suture may elicit minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. Progressive loss of tensile strength and absorptions of PGCL suture occurs by means of hydrolysis. Tensile Strength The retention strength of Mono Q® is about 50% of the initial strength after 7 days"
